OUGD504 / STUDIO BRIEF 03 / CONTENT DEVELOPMENT

Grid:

Double landscape

Landscape overlap

Double portrait

 Full bleed

Since this brief involves working with a large number of images, it is important to install some form of structure to maintain consistency and flow. However, to avoid appearing repetitive, there are several different variations in layout, keeping the publication exciting to read.  Above you can see examples of how these grids are utilised for each of the different layouts. The grid system caters to each of these layouts.

Imagery:

Black and white imagery seemed the most appropriate finish for the photos within the publication. Black and white adds an eerie aesthetic to the already mysterious photos. They have been collected from places such as the salt mines, Auschwitz and various other religious locations that all have an ominous and dark presence to them, making black and white a fitting choice which further enhances this.

Index & Page numbering:

As there will be no text on the pages throughout the publication, an index is a suitable option. For this, the pages must be numbered allowing the user to locate the images on the index with ease.
