For our crit we wrote down three questions we'd like to ask regarding our book. My questions were:
Does the binding method work with the style/purpose/audience?
Is the name of the book appropriate?
Does the content/colours suit the topic?
I received some really good feedback on my work which also made me feel much more at ease with what I produced.
Since I had used a simple pamphlet stitch, I was concerned it wouldn't look that impressive, even though the purpose of my book is to be cheap, informative and eco-friendly. It was good to know this stitch was appropriate for my book even though it is very simple. The idea of using black thread would have probably worked a lot better, if I was to do this brief again I would have perhaps tried it in this colour.
People in the class also found the name of my book suitable and effective. It's a little vague if you aren't as aware on the animal industry or veganism in general so it may entice people to want to read it and be educated, then the title will become clearer. It is a conceptual title and people agreed with this in the comments.
The green/yellow colour I used was apparently effective as well as it reflects eco/nature, contrasting with the harsh black and white images throughout. The red was also said to be effective as I hadn't used too much of it but the subtle incorporation reflects the blood/gore related to the slaughter.
