PLATFORM
When designing a logo it is important to consider if the design will be implemented across various medias, for example screen or print. Will this logo only have an online presence or could it be replicated onto physical objects such as bags, tshirts or posters. It is highly dependent on the brand's nature. For this brief Chonaic is a vegan clothing brand, so it is likely that the logo will be imposed onto various clothing articles or bags. Because of this, I will need to look into methods of printing my design onto another medium that is not just screen to ensure it's versatility.
CLIENT
As this is a live brief, communicating with the client is essential if the designer wants to take their thoughts and ideas and bring them to life to see how they turn out. Using communication, the designer and the client can discuss ways of improvement and it is beneficial for both parties. We are using Kickstarter and so it is a great idea to send my chosen project a message introducing myself and my motives with their brand, in order to see if they have any pointers for how they would like it to turn out themselves. I can choose to take the tips or try different ideas.
ILLUSTRATOR
The designer needs to choose appropriate software for their brief. In this case, designing a logo, it is usually most effective when the logo can be blown up to any needed size. Illustrator is the most suitable software for this task as it is simply working with vector, which would ensure the quality is maintained when the logo is transferred onto other mediums.
AUDIENCE
Target audience is crucial when designing for anything, but for this brief it is essential to fully consider the audience and what may appeal to them most to increase sales of the brand and catch attention.
