OUGD504 / STUDIO BRIEF 03 / PREPARATION
Before beginning my research, it's a good idea to start planning my time and make a basic mind map on what to consider for the brief.
I always find it helpful to make a to do list so I know exactly what to do for the brief as a whole. It gives me a good starting point as well. The first step which I have already done is brief analysis, which allows you to start thinking more in-depth about the brief. The next important stage is research which I have organised into respective sections in order to fully consider each one thoroughly. Since this is an extended brief, this means there will be much more time to dedicate to research; I must research into binding methods, stock, layout, size and finishes in order to completely take into account all aspects of the publication and do the best job of it that I can with the time I have.
Creating a mind map made it easier to generate options to consider, such as the different stocks, sizes of publication, finishes, layout and binding. This is just a start into looking at all the options I have in all the different aspects.
As I progress, it would also be useful to create a time plan so I can further organise myself and get the brief done efficiently.
