OUGD504 / STUDIO BRIEF 02 / FIRST MOCK UPS & DELIVERABLES

Tote bag variations in black and white.

For submission I'd actually like to try and screen print the logo onto a tote bag myself, instead of just printing this image out, it would be good to have something more physical. I could achieve the luminous green easily by doing the screen printing method and I feel it would be a relevant deliverable as a lot of clothing brands supply tote bags with their branding printed on them for customers, which is a method of advertising as well.

I also mocked up my logo on a poster that would advertise the brand, or be used as display within the actual shop on display. I chose a mock up that had the kind of shop aesthetics I would imagine in a store like this. The vibes are 'hipster' and fresh.
I also created a lookbook front cover, which would display all of the brand's stock using models and scenes. I used the same image of the model from Des Rosiers as I previously mentioned on my blog. I contacted Shane from Chonaic about using any modelling photos they had:

"I don't really, but if you check our facebook page - facebook.com/chonaic - we have a couple of teasers on there. Our photoshoot is actually Monday. We're going to have much more to view later this week once they're edited etc."

I did check out their page however I didn't feel like any of the images where suitable for what I wanted to do here. They were taken unprofessionally for now, and didn't have the lookbook style vibe I was going for as I found in my research previously.

I used a modern sans serif throughout, the same as I used for the Chonaic logo, and also thought it would be nice to even use the other eye logo I created previously for the "Lookbook" title at the bottom right. This livens up the page as the main logo is quite serious, also it adds a bit of fun because the eyes are actually looking..

I initially tried to print this on paper which had a finish similar to a magazine, however, since the bright green was designed using RGB, I knew it would not come out as brightly as I wanted. When printed, the green looked so dark and it didn't look great at all. I was expecting it to turn out darker but not that dark. I asked James in the printing room what my other options where and if I could achieve a brighter green by using different stock. Even though I wanted it to feel like a magazine, I ended up printing this on photo paper type stock and using a different printer than the first one. In a way this can resemble a high quality magazine which uses thicker stock for their covers. I'm really pleased with how bright the green came out; as this was my main priority.
